Cessnock Community Healthcare caters for all your health care needs. We are also an accredited training practice for general practice registrars and for medical, nursing and allied health students.

Clinical Director

Dr Mark Foster  MBBS FRACGP M.Med.Sci.  Dr Foster joined us April 2016, He consults from both our Cessnock and Kurri Kurri clinics.  


General Practitioners

We have  doctors (both male and female) available across our two clinics including registrars. All registrars are fully qualified doctors who spend 6 – 12 months at the clinic finalising their specialist general practice training.

Nursing Staff

Our practice has experienced nursing staff. Our nurses work closely with your doctor in your care. Ongoing care nurses gather information on your history and support the doctors in performing health assessments and developing management plans for your health care. They perform ECGs, spirometry, injections, immunisations, wound dressings and assist the doctors in minor surgical procedures. Two  of our nurses are trained to do pap smears. We also have a registered nurse available.for antenatal and postnatal care and baby checks. ( Kurri Kurri )  Our credentialed mental health nurse works with your doctor to arrange counselling, psychologist or social support services if needed.

Our team of friendly and efficient Patient Support Officers will help you over the phone and at the reception desk

Making an Appointment

There are several ways to make an appointment:

  • Call our main phone line on 0249910333 (Cessnock) or 4939 3300 (Kurri)
  • Make an appointment in person. 
  • Appointment times are in demand. If you are unable to keep your appointment, PLEASE advise the Clinic as soon as possible. We operate on an appointment booking system. If you arrive without an appointment you will be offered the next available appointment. If you feel your problem is urgent, please inform reception and we will arrange for you to be assessed. For non-urgent appointments please phone in advance. Please book a long appointment for complex medical issues, insurance or pre-employment medicals or if there are any forms that need to be completed by your Doctor. Sometimes delays can occur due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to advise you of delays on your arrival.
